Back to You: The Art of Invisible Performance
In an era of digital distraction and over-engineered wearables, the true luxury is a return to the self. My work as Creative Director for QUS was centered on a single, uncompromising premise: Back to You. No phones, no plastic straps, no "gadgets"—just the athlete, the movement, and the data.
I led the holistic design of this ecosystem by overseeing everything from the garment to the physical retail environments, I ensured that the technology never shouts; it simply performs.
The men’s shirt and women’s sports bra are designed to act as a second skin. These garments feature integrated, washable sensors (100+ cycles) that capture pulse and respiration without the need for a chest strap.
I directed the design and Design for Manufacturing of this hardware acting as the brain of the system, engineered to be ultra-low profile ensuring it never interferes with a "perfect fit" or a clean aesthetic.
Every touchpoint reinforces the brand's minimalist philosophy, focusing on a premium, tactile unboxing experience that feels more like high-fashion than high-tech.
To launch a revolutionary product, you need an environment that tells the story. I led the spatial design for QUS across global stages:
CES Las Vegas Exhibition space
I designed the booth to be a sanctuary of focus amidst the noise of the world’s largest tech stage. By utilizing a palette of deep blacks and living green walls, I created a space that represented the intersection of nature and intelligence. To deepen this immersion, I integrated a massive overhead screen projecting the lush canopy of a forest crown. When you stepped into the booth, the curated lighting shifted to mimic the dappled, atmospheric glow of being deep in the woods—a physical manifestation of the "Back to You" philosophy.
For retail, I developed modular pop-up stations featuring raw textures and clean-lined displays. These units invite the customer to experience the garment’s quality while reflecting the brand’s "laid-back" yet disciplined attitude.
While QUS is a "must-have" for elite athletes—proven through our partnership with the Austrian soccer club SK Sturm Graz—the design was built for the demanding environments. The precision of our "body-direct" data capturing has made QUS a vital tool for:
